An Easter Meditation

If you've read 'Spring Equinox Meditation' or 'A Meditation for New Year' you'll know that being able to meditate is a valuable skill, especially in today’s hectic world.  Drawn from ancient disciplines, it is still totally right for our times.  Most, if not all religions encourage some form of contemplation, but the techniques of meditation as they are taught today are often drawn from Buddhism. The ultimate goal of meditation is a union with the Divine, but for the great majority of us that idea seems too distant.

An experience of tranquillity, a pleasant detachment, a sense of there being ‘something greater’ is what we seek, and what can be found in meditation, along with a host of health benefits that come with reduced stress.  These include lowered blood-pressure, a better immune system, less frequency of life-threatening diseases and a general sense of wellbeing. Meditating involves shifting your state of mind, moving into another level of awareness.  This isn’t difficult, but requires practice.  Check out the other articles on the website (see above) for hints and tips to go about this.  Then you’ll be ready to start the Easter Meditation.

The meditation can be done in a group, if you wish.  You can record the instructions if you like, or memorise them – whatever works best for you.  Relax and begin…

‘It is the hour just before dawn.  In the darkness you stand in front of a cave.  The way into the cave is blocked by a large stone slab.  All around you there is stillness.  Above you the stars twinkle in the indigo sky, and the breeze is soft and cool.  There is an air of peace, and expectancy…

‘Dawn is coming – you feel it.  Around you the earth seems to be singing, the blades of grass whispering.  Gradually it is becoming lighter.  You know that something wonderful is going to happen…

‘As the sun rises over the horizon, the slab of stone is caught in a ray of light.  You watch as it slowly rolls to one side, revealing a golden chamber within.  You go into this golden chamber and you see, on an altar in front of you, a large egg, seemingly made of a marble-like substance…

‘As you watch, the egg begins to crack.  Something important is being born, or re-born.  This is a gift, a message or a symbol, just for you.    Allow it to take shape, and receive it with thankfulness…

‘When you are ready, take your gift and come out of the cave, into the sunshine.  Behind you, the stone slab rolls shut again.  The sun shines on you, filling you with energy and renewal.  Breathe this in and bask in it for a while….

‘When you are ready, come back to everyday awareness, make a note of what your gift, or symbol means, and spend a few moments making plans for your future.’

Of course there are times when you need some knowledge and positive input that you can’t get through meditating. You may also want someone wise to talk to about your experiences when you meditate.  Don’t worry – at The Circle we have all that you could wish for in psychic readings and clairvoyant readingsWhy not call us today, to be connected to a medium, or psychic and to feel supported and guided.
