"Medium" is a gripping drama series inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois. Patricial Arquette stars as Alison in this adaptation as the young wife and mother who, since childhood, has been struggling to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. As a part-time consultant to the district attorney's office, Allison uses her psychic abilities, which consist of talking to dead people as well as seeing the future in her dreams to solve violent and horrifying crimes that have remained mysteries to her boss D.A. Devalos and others within the criminal justice system.
Patricia received an Emmy in the ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ category for her performance as Allison after the the initial 16 episodes of this critically acclaimed series. In 2007 she was also nominated for a SAG Award in the ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series’ and at the 64th Golden Globes she was in the ‘Best Performance By An Actress In a Television Series – Drama’ category.
Medium star Patricia Arquette relied on her own intuitive powers when she kissed a man who was eventually convicted of murdering a young girl and decided to give him a fake phone number after their meeting. She told the newspaper USA Today, "When I was 18, I kissed this really cute guy, but something about him gave me the creeps. He was the first guy I ever gave a fake (phone) number to. Years later, he killed a girl. So you've got to trust your instincts!" The 38-year-old actress married actor Thomas Jane in Venice, Italy and is glad she no longer has to deal with the world of dating.
