2011 is the year of the Rabbit and it will be ushered in on 3rd February 2011. As it is the Year of the Metal Rabbit you may hear it called the White Rabbit, Yellow Rabbit or Golden Rabbit Year. The Rabbit is a shy, sweet-natured animal. The Chinese believe it is lucky and the symbol of longevity. Our Chinese astrologer Alison Chan Lung (PIN 1214) reveals the secrets of the East for the coming year.
This year will have a gentler feel to it than the ferocious year of the Tiger that came before it. For those signs that felt the bite of the Tiger, they can take some quiet time to rest and reflect. This should be a more sophisticated year where good taste reigns supreme. It would be better to try the gentle art of persuasion this year rather than brute force. Feminine wiles and diplomacy will win the day. Follow your intuition and instincts. However it’s best to guard against complacency and sinking too much into a comfort zone. Don’t overindulge and put off tasks that you don’t want to do for too long. Procrastination gets you nowhere and to see results this year, you have to put in the same effort to reap the rewards.
(1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999) A beneficial year and there could be welcome blessings in both love and money. There are opportunities to be had and the Rabbit should take them. But the Rabbit must pay attention to detail if things are to come effortlessly. You must remember not to take your eye off the ball and if something appears to be too good to be true, it might be. Look after family and friends and you could be rewarded. You have the good fortune to advance in your career and be financially successful.
(1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000) Calm comes back to the Dragon this year. You will need to be diplomatic and work as a team with others. However you can get a lot done and you are preparing the way for the future. Put time and effort into your relationships and communicate more. Listen to other people and try to take a bit of a back seat at times. Let go of the urge to always be in control and let other people organise some fun times. You can then focus on more important issues such as marriage, new business ventures and long-lasting friendships.
(1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001) A busy year for the Snake, and you could do well and be happy. But you will need to plan ahead and keep an eye on your aims and goals. Find time to spend on your personal relationships and romance. Be careful with money as it could come and go this year, and if you are tempted to buy expensive items, make sure that they are a good investment. Better not to take major risks but spend time on projects that you know will yield results. Your hard work will pay off.
(1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002) The Horse will have good luck and a few happy surprises this year. Life will be more peaceful, and if you can curb your restlessness, your home life and work will be steady. But if you do have itchy feet and want to plan a big trip, this is the year to do it. The Rabbit year allows the Horse to roam a bit and to work hard and play hard. But because of the Rabbit year’s softer nature, remember to think of others and nurture your friendships and relationships old and new. Be careful of the words you speak and maintain good communication.
(1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003) The Rabbit and the Sheep are friends, so this is a year of good fortune. There are more gains than losses. But the Sheep should not take anything for granted in this unpredictable year. You would do well to be a little bit careful, show gratitude for what you have and take good care of your home and your health. Financially you may see some gains, but do not overspend and do follow a budget. Take time to re-charge your batteries in this busy but bountiful year. There could be a happy addition to the family this year.
(1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005) A fair to good year for the Rooster. You need to respect your
dealings with others, especially those in authority. Try not to be too critical or oversensitive and you will work well with others. Don’t get drawn into arguments or anything too controversial. Get your facts and figures right and learn from any mistakes and move on. Speak gently with a loved one and make sure you put time and energy into your home and love life. Do not neglect what is really important to you this year.
(1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006) The Dog needs to follow his intuition in order to be successful this year. Try to focus on your own interests and don’t interfere with others. You can be successful this way as the Rabbit puts self-interests first. You will make new friends and find new opportunities. From this a new romance could develop or a new career. Luckily for the Dog, you will make things happen easily but do heed good advice from those you respect. You may be guided towards new ways of making money but do exert some caution. However, you may end up enjoying a nice holiday from the proceeds.
(1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007) This could be a positive year for the Boar. There will hardly be any setbacks, but you will need to work hard to see things through to completion. There could be happy family celebrations and for single Boars, a new relationship could blossom. But discretion is important and do not confide too much in others. The Boar enjoys the finer things in life, but do take financial advice this year. Don’t go all out to impress and get everyone to like you this year but concentrate a bit more on what you need to do. Focus on your immediate, intimate family and circle of friends.
(1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) The Rabbit brings a calmer more serene year for the Rat. It’s a good time to learn new things and even find a good coach or mentor. Set your sights and your aims high. Be ready to meet new people, network or date more. You will be charming and popular and serendipity will create many lucky coincidences for you. But be a little canny and read the small print and check all the details. By the summer, you should take time out to spend time with your family relaxing and putting your feet up.
(1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009) Life is going to be complicated this year, especially in affairs of the heart. Confusion and indecision may be rife and all Ox can do in the face of adversity is to knuckle down to work on what’s really important. Sometimes it’s vital to put yourself and your needs first, so think about what’s good for you.
(1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010) A better year for the Tiger and it could be a prosperous one. You may have happy surprises both in love and work. But you will need to be patient and not overly optimistic. Guard against procrastinating and changing your mind too much. Remain steadfast and don’t become complacent. It’s important to negotiate and work with other people who are on your side. You could make new friends, take up new hobbies and learn to relax and enjoy life more.
