The World Tarot tells you that your life is in balance, page 2/2The card's symbols in other decks |
In its career aspects, The World advises us to find activities that fit who we are and are good for us. And this surely fits with the idea of “career as a calling,” one which is deeply fulfilling and not merely breadwinning. The World can be calling forth the challenge to define and work toward your goals. Sometimes this is concrete evidence to seek a job that involves travelling abroad or international contacts.
THIS CARD IN OTHER DECKS
In Reverse-Card Tarot, which gives special meaning when a card is placed upside-down at 180 degrees, The World — in contrast to most of the other cards— has no special different meaning. This is evidence that The World symbolises completion, is as it is, and cannot be changed. The Crowley Thoth Tarot calls this card “The Universe.” The artist Lady Frieda painted for Crowley a picture of a woman dancing with a snake. The woman and the snake symbolise Eve and Lilith, the two symbols of completeness. Only when the dark side or “evil” ceases to be demonised and suppressed, is conciliation and completeness possible. In alchemical terms, the elixir has been found which unites and fixes contrasting elements. The oval with 365 fields is a further symbol of wholeness and paradise reborn. The four cherubim in the corners radiate life through their breath, yet another symbol for a world in which everything flows.
